Kramer Workplace Investigations’ attorney investigators pride themselves on their integrity, their ability to remain impartial throughout an investigation, and their sensitivity to the legal implications of each investigation. Karen Kramer

Karen Kramer is the President of Kramer Workplace Investigations, a law firm specializing in workplace investigations. Since forming Kramer-Wiese in 2000, Karen’s practice has focused primarily on conducting personnel investigations involving allegations of discrimination, harassment and retaliation, as well as misconduct and disciplinary matters. She previously litigated employment law matters with Porter Scott in Sacramento and worked as an Employment Law Attorney with LexisNexis.

 

Karen’s experience includes conducting over 1000 workplace investigations since 2000 and testifying during administrative and judicial proceedings regarding completed investigations.  Karen is well versed in the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights and the Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights.  She has also conducted many complex and high profile investigations involving high level public employees and elected officials.

Karen is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine (1989) and University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (1992). She is a former President of the Association of Workplace Investigators, and remains an active member of the association.

Jennifer Perkins

Jennifer Perkins is a Senior Associate with Kramer Workplace Investigations. Since 2014, she has conducted investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, bullying and other workplace misconduct. Jennifer conducts investigations in both the private and public sector. She is also experienced in leading investigations under the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights and the Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights.  When investigating workplace claims, Jennifer emphasizes professionalism and understanding so that the investigation process is timely, impartial and thorough to allow employees and employers the opportunity to return to work in an improved environment. 

 

Prior to joining Kramer Workplace Investigations, Jennifer practiced family law and served as a criminal prosecutor. In each of these practice areas, Jennifer gained valuable experience in interviewing witnesses, navigating complex allegations, supervising a team of criminal investigators, and managing jury and court trials. 

 

Jennifer earned her Juris Doctor from Santa Clara Law School, graduating magna cum laude, and her undergraduate degree from University of California at Santa Barbara, graduating with honors. She also graduated from the Association of Workplace Investigators Training Institute.

Kate Starkebaum

Kate Starkebaum is a Senior Associate with Kramer Workplace Investigations.  She conducts workplace investigations into a variety of issues, including claims of sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation and employer misconduct.  Kate works with the public sector and has experience with both the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights and the Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights.  Prior to joining Kramer Workplace Investigations, Kate practiced civil litigation, representing employers in both the public and private sectors. 

 

Kate received her Juris Doctor from University of California Law San Francisco, formerly Hastings College of the Law, and her bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University, graduating Cum Laude.

Kate attended the Association of Workplace Investigators Training Institute in 2019 and obtained her AWI-CH Certificate. She has since served as part-time faculty at several AWI Training Institutes.  Kate also serves as a presenter for the AWI Basics Seminars.

Kimberlie Revai

Kimberlie Revai is a Senior Associate with Kramer Workplace Investigations.  She conducts workplace investigations for both private and public sector employers, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, bullying and other workplace misconduct.  Kimberlie has experience investigating complex allegations, including complaints involving numerous allegations and multiple parties.  She is also experienced in conducting investigations involving Firefighters and Police Officers, and is familiar with both the Public Safety Procedural Bill of Rights and the Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights.  

 

Kimberlie earned her Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1993.  Following law school, Kimberlie represented employers and insurance companies in matters involving Employment Law, Insurance Coverage and Liability, and Workers’ Compensation. 

 

Kimberlie is a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators.  She attended the AWI Training Institute in 2021, and obtained her AWI-CH certificate at that time.

Natasha DeCourcy

Natasha DeCourcy is an Associate with Kramer Workplace Investigations.  Natasha joined Kramer Workplace Investigations in 2024.  She conducts both private and public sector workplace investigations, focusing on claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation,  bullying and other workplace misconduct. â€‹

Natasha received her Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law.  Following law school, she represented employers in a variety of industries in all types of employment litigation.  Thereafter, Natasha focused her career on employment policy compliance and advice and counsel. 

​

​Natasha is a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators.  She attended the AWI Training Institute in 2024 and obtained her AWI-CH certificate at that time.

Emily Getty

Emily Getty is Kramer Workplace Investigations’ Paralegal & Office Administrator.  Emily is a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.  She began her career in human resources, working for a high-tech company overseeing its Immigration and Relocation Program.  Emily obtained a paralegal certificate from De Anza College in 2003 and worked for employment law litigation firms until 2017, when she joined Kramer Workplace Investigations.

Emily is a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators. She attended the AWI Training Institute in 2018 and obtained her AWI-CH certificate at that time.
